Petty Theft
Petty theft is classified as theft of an item or items with a total monetary value under the amount of $500.
Petty theft has mandatory minimum sentences for repeated convictions. A second conviction requires a fine of $250. A third conviction earns a mandatory 30-day jail sentence, or 120 days of house detention.
